A limousine or a tow truck can get you off the road

Another McHenry New Year’s Eve is almost upon us. For many, the New Year’s Eve party is the highlight of the year. Even those who are generally more socially inhibited are liable to let their hair down on New Year’s Eve. It’s important to ensure that your free-wheeling approach to the holiday doesn’t end in an undesirable fashion.

How could all that fun end unpleasantly? Most people are forgiving of a little social faux pas. That’s not really the problem. The way that New Year’s Eve could end badly is if it involves rotating red and/or blue lights. And the connection between flashing lights and the New Year’s Eve party is alcohol.

This isn’t to say that folks shouldn’t drink but there needs to be some consideration given to how transportation will play a part in this equation. For those people who don’t imbibe in the consumption of alcohol often, this may require a little more planning. For others, hopefully, they’ve already worked this out; they’ve already made arrangements so they won’t drive after drinking.

One solution is a designated driver. If you have someone willing to forgo drinking so everyone else in your party can enjoy without worry, that’s great. But, why should one among you have to sacrifice their share of the fun this McHenry New Year’s Eve?

You could order a cab. But, by the time you’re party is ready to return home, the cabs will be in high demand. You could find yourself waiting quite a while for a ride. And, you won’t know what some of the previous passengers might have done in the cab before your turn for a ride.

A better idea is to hire a limousine. A limousine takes all the responsibility and worry out of your hands and off your mind. Limos are known for the way they’re kept fastidiously clean. When it’s time to go, the limousine will take you and your party to your homes, drop you all off safely and you won’t feel that the party has really ended until you’ve tucked yourself in bed, at whatever hour.

The alternative risks the use of a tow truck. Tow trucks are called to tow cars after the police have taken drivers, in handcuffs, into the backseat of a squad car for a ride to the station for booking. This scenario is called DUI – Driving Under the Influence – and is followed by expensive relationships with attorneys, repeated court dates, loss of driving privileges, extensive fines and serious inconveniences.

Tow trucks also come into play when vehicles are in accidents. If you’re in an accident, it’s often combined with the pain and inconvenience of a DUI. That assumes you survive the accident.

By comparison, getting back to your McHenry home from you New Year’s Eve party in a limousine is something of a better alternative.
